Cabot is seeking a Sr. Quality Control Technician to join our growing Inkjet Manufacturing Plant in Haverhill, MA. We are the primary manufacturing facility for inkjet colorants for packaging, commercial, and desktop markets. The Sr. Quality Control Technician will conduct a variety of tests, including non-routine and special testing and will manage forecasting, production planning and scheduling processes for multiple product lines.
• Conducts various tests and analyses of product samples to determine quality and reliability during manufacturing or product development. Tests for quality, performance and chemical characteristics.
• Sets up tests and equipment and conduct special functional tests on products or other materials.
• Evaluates and reports test results in an accurate and timely manner. Determines compliance with Quality standards as well as Cabot and customers requests. Rejects or releases product to inventory per established QC plans. Compiles test results.
• Provides training on new testing procedures and techniques; trains new or less-experienced technicians.
• Ensures laboratory test equipment is calibrated properly and in safe operating condition. Calibrates equipment as necessary.
• Provides input regarding condition of equipment and new technologies.
• Working knowledge of related Quality support systems used in the testing and approval of product.
• Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned including Quality Product Release (raw material receipt, misc projects, supplies, NCM process), Production Scheduling (work orders, commodity raw materials, cycle count) and Product Testing.
Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
• Solid knowledge of testing techniques, chemical-handling and laboratory procedures. Ability to use testing tools and equipment. Working knowledge of Quality Control and Statistical Control principles.
• Manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to details.

• Written, verbal communication and active listening skills. Ability to read and interpret complex operating instructions. Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment. Ability to provide training to others.
• Excellent organization skills in order to complete various sample tests simultaneously.
• Flexibility in performing changing assignments and work schedules.
• Chemistry and math coursework /vocational training or equivalent experience required.
• 3-5 years related experience.
