Your Role at Cabot

 Cabot is seeking experienced Production Operators to join our team at our Haverhill Inkjet manufacturing plant. We are the primary manufacturing facility for inkjet colorants for both packaging, commercial, and desktop markets. This inkjet colorant product line is the market leader for aqueous pigment dispersions utilized in the desktop inkjet market.  

 

The production operator will operate a chemical process system and related equipment while performing tasks in a safe manner and following plant safety policies/procedures.  Employees at this level can perform all aspects of the chemical process cycle. This position requires you to be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift.

How You Will Make an Impact

A successful candidate will be someone who:  

  • Controls chemical process and operates all related equipment using the distributed control system (DCS).  Follows work instructions (WI) and Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP). 
  • Adjusts controls to regulate variables as per instructions.  Performs set up procedures to prepare systems for operation. 
  • Monitors and troubleshoots the process to maintain required operating conditions. Conducts in process Quality Control testing. 
  • Performs minor maintenance on process and support equipment. 
  • May use business management system to enter work orders and requisitions. 
  • May transfer and move materials in heavy containers.   Assists in packaging product for shipment and in loading/unloading product or raw materials. 
  • Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Keeps work area safe and clean. 
  • Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001®   technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.

    • Manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to details.  General mechanical aptitude. 
    • Able to read and interpret complex operating instructions.  Basic knowledge of shop mathematics to read blueprints. 
    • High level of safety awareness and attention to details. 
    • Written, verbal communication and active listening skills.  Capacity to cross-train with other operating units. Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment. 
    • Organizational and record keeping skills.  Familiarity with computers as a user. 
    • Flexibility in performing changing assignments and work schedules.  
    • Ability to wear a full faced respirator if required.
    • Ability to lift to 50 lbs and use material handling equipment. 
    • Ability to remain calm and react effectively in critical situations. 
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
