Your Role at Cabot

As a member of the global Corporate Communications function, the Communications Specialist will help shape how we tell our story—internally and externally. You'll help manage digital content (website, intranet and social media), support brand storytelling, and help execute strategic communication initiatives that bring our purpose to life.

We’re looking for someone who is not only organized and detail-oriented, but also a proactive self-starter and strategic thinker, someone who can execute efficiently while understanding how their work fits into the bigger picture. Success in this role requires strong digital communication skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role is based at either the Boston, MA or Riga, Latvia locations, but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Digital Channel Administration: From our intranet to our website, you'll help keep content fresh, accurate and aligned with our brand.
  • Social Media Execution: Help bring our company to life on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and X. You'll create, schedule posts, track performance, and look for opportunities to elevate our reach.
  • Spotting Stories Worth Sharing: Proactively explore internal channels and connect with employees to uncover powerful moments, initiatives, and voices that we can share more broadly internally or on our external channels.
  • Supporting Big Moments: Help senior members of our team deliver communications and presentations for key company events, announcements, and global initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with Cabot’s voice and values.
  • Creating compelling content: Assist in the development, writing, editing and publishing of internal and external communications (from quick blurbs and social media posts to longer features) in a clear, engaging manner.
  • Bringing Stories to Life: Assist in the creation and editing of short videos and visual assets for internal and social media use.
  • Staying Organized and Ahead of the Game: Keep our editorial calendar, databases, and media lists updated and running smoothly.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field preferred.
  • Experience in marketing, communications or public relations (1-3 years’ corporate or agency setting preferred).
  • Exceptional English communication (written and verbal, editing, and proofreading), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric mindset and attention to detail.
  • Experience in the design and execution of communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong familiarity with social media, digital content distribution and tactics to maximize traffic.
  • Solid understanding of digital communications, including web content management systems and social media platforms. Experience in Sitecore, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, SharePoint or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of photo and video editing tools or willingness to learn (i.e. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, etc.).
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and solve problems. Ability to work well with others and enjoy being part of a collaborative, hands-on global team.
  • Positive, professional, and adaptable with a high level of accountability.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
