Your Role at Cabot

Cabot has an excellent opportunity to join our team. As a Packer, you will ensure our safety and product quality standards are met in everything that you do. You will be responsible for packing, storing, and labelling our finished carbon black product. At times this may require troubleshooting problems and supporting maintenance activities. This position will require twelve-hour rotating shifts, and the ability to work overtime. Interested candidates should be safety conscious and highly motivated. How You Will Make an Impact

• With a Safety and Environmental focus, package finished product according to instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
• Operate automated packing, conveying and palletizing equipment and forklifts.
• Record grade and packaging information on the load ticket for each load of product.
• Sample and label product in accordance with Production Procedures Manual and deliver the samples to the designated sample pick up area.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor routine maintenance as necessary on packaging machinery.
• Report any equipment in the packaging area that needs maintenance to the Shift Supervisor.
• Record statistical information about the packaging being performed, and, where applicable, plot such information on control charts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the packing area.
• Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

• Ability to read and interpret operating and safety instructions; written, verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment.
• Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task (attention to detail).
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to focus for long periods of time
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to troubleshoot and problem solve equipment.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must be willing and able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to a respirator.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills are preferred
